Worldwide Grant
8 grants of maximum 1,000 EUR each on data collection gathering on intersectional discrimination faced by women and/or LGBTQIA+ people sentenced to death. The 8 small grants are to be distributed among all the regions and priority will be given to countries with lack of data on women and LGBTQIA+ individuals facing the death penalty and to Iran, Japan, Sri Lanka and the United States of America.

2 grants of maximum 5,000 EUR each for activities related to ratification of international and regional protocols on abolition of the death penalty at national level.

Kenya
1 grant of maximum 20,000 EUR to support the emergence of new players through financial retrocessions to third parties in Kenya, with the aim of encouraging the emergence of new players, fostering new partnership dynamics within national and regional movements against the death penalty

Grant Africa 5
Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania
For activities aimed at making visible and combating intersectional discrimination faced by women and/or LGBTQIA+ people in the judicial process leading to the death penalty (juveniles, people with disabilities, people from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds…).
Priority will be given to projects submitted in collaboration with organizations defending the rights of women, LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities and young people, as well as to projects submitted by various partners based in the same country in order to support collaborative approaches.The following grants are to be distributed among target countries for gender and death penalty (Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda): 4 grants of maximum 5,000 EUR each, 4 grants of maximum 10,000 EUR each, 2 grants of maximum 20,000 EUR each.

Grant Africa 6
Liberia, Malawi, Niger, and Nigeria
5 grants of maximum 5,000 EUR for World Day Against the Death Penalty on 10 October 2024 and 2025 and national campaigns to reinforce the public knowledge on key arguments against the death penalty as well as convince new players to become new allies.

How to apply?
Please submit your application online.
If you can’t submit your application via this online form, please download the documents here and submit your application by email to FSTP@worldcoalition.org (if you need a secure email box, please let us know).
Your project proposal should be sent in English of French and composed of:
- the online application form or the form in Word format;
- the detailed budget using the template in Word Document;
- your organization’s By-laws/constitution/written document of creation of an informal entity as a civil society organization or informal networks of people opposed to the death penalty (bearing in mind that you have to be non-profit-making or social enterprises; and have as part of your mandate the protection and promotion of human rights.)
- your organization’s most recent activity and financial report or any other documentation to showcase your past experience
The subject line of the submission must read: Open Call for FSTP FFPA followed by the country/region and the organization’s name.
Submission Deadline: Proposals must be submitted by – 24 October 2024, midnight CEST (Paris time).
Indicative Timetable:
- 19 September 2024: Launch of the Open Call
- 26 September at 10am CEST and 15 October: Information sessions for people willing to apply – to register, please email FSTP@worldcoalition.org
- 24 October 2024: Deadline for submission of proposals
- 24 October – 7 November 2024: Evaluation and selection process
- 7-21 November 2024: Decision by the Consortium Board on the selection of Third Parties with advice from the Independent Advisory Panel
- End of November 2024: Signature of the grant agreements and transfer of funds
- March 2026: end of activities and final reports
